Wren Capital approaches the advisory and private placement business, first and foremost, as investors.

We are differentiated by our model of investing as Limited Partners in each permissible private placement we undertake. As a result, we scrupulously prequalify the select group of managers/operators we engage and represent a concentrated portfolio of issuers at a given time. Our assessment of an issuer’s ability to deliver superior risk-adjusted returns in their asset class and their ability to meet the highest standards of due diligence, integrity and governance are the cornerstones of success for our investors, issuers and Wren.

Wren Capital conducts issuer due diligence through a process that closely mirrors that which a sophisticated institutional investor would conduct. This starts with a forensic analysis, understanding and documentation of the firm, its history, principals, strategy, investment process, competitive landscape, track record, and ending with the all-important intangibles: Is this an issuer who will be their best under duress? An issuer with which Wren and Wren’s investors can sustain a long-term relationship?

Finally, we overlay decades of experience working with institutional investors across diverse asset classes, including equity, credit, private equity, real assets and we systematically target the largest investors top-down as well as smaller investors, bottom-up, who are active in a particular asset class. Judicious time invested on the front end - manager due diligence, a thorough analysis of a particular strategy’s differentiated standing in its own competitive environment, worst case analysis, potential investor analysis, and people analysis - best ensures success on the back end.
